Hunting Information

All hunting and fishing at Little Rock AFB is in accordance with the game and fish laws/regulations of the State of Arkansas. In addition, all personnel who hunt or fish on base are required to purchase a base permit, which must be attached to the State of Arkansas license. Base hunting and fishing permits can be bought at Outdoor Recreation. The base law enforcement desk serves as the hunter’s check station.

Fishing Information

• Anyone fishing on base must buy a base fishing permit in addition to a state fishing license. The price for the base permit was raised to $5.00 effective 1 Mar 2007.

• Rainbow Trout - the AGFC has stocked the small base lake with over 2,250 rainbow trout since Dec. A trout stamp is required to keep trout.

The base lakes provides the only fishing and boating opportunities at the base. During the last two winters, the AG&FC has stocked the small base lake with rainbow trout as part of their winter fishing program. The culvert between the two lakes was blocked so the trout would stay in the small base lake. In February 2002, the AG&FC stocked the large base lake with 300 grass carp to help control the submergent vegetation. The entire base lake has also been stocked with channel catfish periodically by the AG&FC. Boating is restricted to canoes and craft without gas-powered motors.
